After seeing how the first print came out I was able to better figure out how I wanted the adjustability to work for the motor mount. I was also able to get an idea of how the transfer case should be mounted. I updated the model in Sketchup to work a little better for my purposes.
I made the side plates taller and added a tilt type of setup rather than a sliding one. I also thought it would be interesting to have two height options if I wanted them. Although this was designed using the Trail Finder 2 chassis, RC4WD tends to duplicate their chassis systems throughout their different offerings. This mount will work in the Trail Finder 2, Gelände II and their newly released Short Wheel Base (SWB) chassis.
For the motor mount itself I worked with a redesign that was a more horizontal slide rather than an arching one on the last print. The tilting action will be gotten from the sides now.
I also created a mount for the transfer case and added it to the model file.
With these changes completed I can upload the STL file to Shapeways and order the print. I will be ordering this one in black plastic to better match the color of the chassis.
